Pocket glide is a unique solution for the age-old problem of snagging and ripping the pipe pocket while inserting bottom pipe into theatrical backdrops. The bullet shape reduces friction for less effort while pushing the pipe into the pocket. The smooth rounded tip allows the pipe to ride up and over seams and previously repaired rips, helping to prevent new damage and expensive downtime during production load-ins.
As backdrops age and deteriorate, it becomes more important to treat them gently. Usually, the pipe pocket must hold at least 60 lbs. of steel pipe, and often is hanging in the air above cast and crew members. Failure to maintain the structural integrity of pipe pockets in theatrical backdrops can result in serious personal injury or death.
Pocketglides are injection molded from high impact polymers, and are internally threaded to accept standard 1/2"-14 NPT pipe.
